About Doug
Doug Wilbur is a passionate Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) who has made Nashville his home. Over the past eight years, he’s been dedicated to treating mental health disorders and addictions in the middle Tennessee area. Doug graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and earned his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Starting out in community mental health centers, Doug worked with people of all ages, genders, and families. Since 2022, he’s shifted his focus to the substance use disorder field and is thrilled to bring his professional and personal experiences to the Brooks Healing Center team.
Doug’s approach to treatment is deeply personal and trauma-informed, influenced by his own family’s history with addiction and trauma. He sees addiction as a symptom of deeper issues and is committed to helping his clients uncover and address these root causes. Doug is trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, and specializes in grief counseling.
Doug now lives in Murfreesboro with his wife, daughter, and their dog. When he is not working, he loves spending time with his family, volunteering, enjoying sports, and building strong, meaningful relationships. Guided by his strong faith, Doug is dedicated to helping people of all ages find their way to hope, healing, and lasting change.
