Brooks Healing Center provides adults from Smyrna and Rutherford County with a structured alternative to trying to recover while remaining inside the same environment where substance use has taken hold.
Our clinical campus in Normandy offers medical detox, residential addiction treatment, and a Partial Hospitalization Program in a quiet Middle Tennessee setting. For eligible patients who need additional support outside program hours, Brooks provides PHP housing and sober living in Tullahoma.

Smyrna gives residents access to Nashville, Murfreesboro, employment, schools, healthcare, and a growing suburban community. Those connections can be strengths—but when addiction is active, the same pace, routines, social circles, and access points can make it difficult to stop.
Brooks offers care outside that daily corridor. The Normandy campus gives patients distance from familiar triggers while keeping them in Middle Tennessee and within a region their families can realistically remain connected to.
Adults from Smyrna, La Vergne, Murfreesboro, Walterhill, Nolensville, Antioch, and surrounding Rutherford County communities may enter treatment at the level that matches their current medical and clinical needs.

We provide a safe, comfortable detox environment where you can regain your baseline health while a team of medically trained professionals takes care of you.
With residential recovery, you can submerge yourself in a structured, supervised, and supportive environment to heal your mind and body.

A person does not have to look severely ill to be at risk during withdrawal. Alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal can become medically dangerous, while opioid withdrawal, stimulant crashes, and polysubstance withdrawal can create intense physical distress, anxiety, depression, and relapse risk.
Brooks provides medical detox at its Normandy campus. Patients receive monitoring, symptom support, clinical engagement, and preparation for the next stage of care.
When residential treatment is recommended, the patient can continue within the same treatment system rather than returning home or transferring to an unrelated facility.
Residential care is intended for people who need round-the-clock structure and a complete break from access to drugs or alcohol. Patients live at Brooks while participating in an individualized treatment schedule.
Services may include individual and group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed approaches, substance use education, relapse-prevention work, experiential activities, family support, life-skills development, and medication-assisted treatment when clinically appropriate.
Residential treatment also creates time to examine the practical realities that affect recovery: housing, employment, relationships, legal problems, medication adherence, transportation, community support, and the risk of returning to the same environment without a plan.
Brooks’ Partial Hospitalization Program is operated at the Normandy campus. PHP provides intensive daytime clinical care for people who are stable enough to live outside a residential setting but still need more support than standard outpatient treatment.
Eligible participants may stay in Brooks’ PHP housing in Tullahoma. This allows them to continue living in a substance-free, recovery-oriented environment while attending clinical programming in Normandy.
Some patients later transition into Brooks sober living in Tullahoma, where they take on more responsibility for work, meetings, household expectations, appointments, finances, relationships, and long-term housing.
The weeks immediately after residential treatment can be deceptively difficult. A person may feel physically better and highly motivated, but motivation alone does not remove triggers, repair relationships, create safe housing, or build a sober support system.
A step-down plan gives recovery time to become practiced rather than merely understood. PHP, recovery housing, sober living, therapy, medication management, and community support can each play a role depending on the person’s needs.
When a patient is ready for a lower level of care than Brooks directly provides, the team can coordinate with trusted IOP or outpatient partners rather than leaving the family to navigate the next step alone.
Brooks treats adults with alcohol, opioid, fentanyl, heroin, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription stimulant, kratom, 7-OH, marijuana, and polysubstance concerns.
Treatment may also address co-occurring depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar symptoms, grief, shame, and emotional dysregulation when the person is clinically appropriate for Brooks. The goal is to understand the relationship between mental health and substance use rather than treating one while ignoring the other.
